Researchers explore techniques to treat multiple sclerosis

Biogen Idec scientists are working on an antibody to treat multiple sclerosis that can boost the production of myelin, a fatty material that protects nerve fibers, by zeroing in on the "Lingo-1" molecule. Meanwhile, researchers at the University of Rochester Medical Center are trying to remyelinate a mouse's central nervous system through stem cell transplantation.
