Researchers find way to turn stem cells into endothelial cells

U.S. researchers have developed a method for transforming human embryonic and pluripotent stem cells into endothelial cells, which make up the interior of blood vessels. "This technique is the first of its kind with serious potential as a treatment for a diverse array of diseases, especially cardiovascular disease, stroke and vascular complications of diabetes," the study's senior author said.
